  2. Access to Electrical Power, Control / Interface / Network Cabling
  3. Air Distribution and Management
  4. Liquid Cooling: Hoses/Pipes/Valves
  5. Signal Reference Ground: EMI / Electrical Noise
  6. Static Control: ESD
  7. Adaptability/Flexibility to Equipment Changes
  8. Appearance
  • Conductive materials have a surface resistance from 1x10^4 ohm to 1x10^6 ohm. Static charges of conductive materials can freely spread on its surface. When it gets rubbed,a positive/negative charge will diffuse and reveal rapidly to get rid of static.
    1. When conductive materials were laid in electrostatic field, its surface will accumulate charges. It must be grounded so that accumulated charges can be released.
    2. Conductive materials can be used in the production and assembly environment of SSD devices.
    3. Conductive material with very low resistance is not suitable for ESD protection. Because accumulated static charges on its surface will discharge to components when such material is laid in the electrostatic field, which could deactivate components.
  • Dissipative materials have a surface resistance from 1x10^6 ohm to 1x10^9 ohm. The resistance of dissipative materials is higher than that of conductive materials and the charge movement rate on its surface is far lower than conductive materials.
    1. When dissipative materials gets rubbed, static charges generated on its surface can spread and release fast.
    2. Due to its high resistance,it will not discharge to materials so it can be used for ESD protection.
    3. It can be used in the production and assembly environment of general SSD devices.
    4. Grounding is usually required when such materials are used.
